5UN Women/Dzilam Mendez In Mexico City, an artistic installation consisting of a number of signs of Venus, representing women, stresses the magnitude of femicidal violence. (March 2018).
More than 12 branches of the the National Federation of Women’s Institutes (NFWI) have been forced to close since the legacy institution updated it’s policy to exclude trans people from it’s membership.
Formed in 1915, they set out to give women a voice and to be a force for good in the community. Now they are judging which women are women enough to join. Any woman not deemed to be sufficiently cisgender may face the humiliation of being excluded. So who decides and what is the criteria? Are women only those lucky enough to be below 5ft 5in in height, have zero facial hair, wear pretty dresses and give bith. What about women with larger than size 5 (UK) feet? Are they not women? Are only only those with dainty feet and polished nails allowed. Is this progressing women’s rights?
British Women’s Liberation Movement
In the late 1960s The British Women’s Liberation Movement (WLM) emerged. The movement campaigned and protested for radical change and more rights for women and girls. These included equal pay (to that of men), equal education and job opportunities and free contraception and abortion on demand. A movement to free women from the servitude of men. A far cry from today's biology obsessed groups that falsely claim to speak for the majority of women.
The Pushback From Powerful Men
So what happened? Why then are some women determined to regress the rights of all women by reducing them to biology. The modern obsession with a woman's biology and chemistry is by it’s very nature anti-feminist and one that is being pushed by men.
The women who cry ‘trans women are men’, are puppets on strings for rich and very powerful men. Men who want society to return to “family values”.
Guardian Columist Moira Donegan wrote
“If you’re a woman in America, Republicans want you to be a mother whether you care to or not. They want you to risk your health to give them more babies. Then, when those babies get bigger, they want to make sure that those children’s fathers – or, excuse me, “parents” – have a near-total control over both them and you.”
But what does this have to do with anti- trans hate groups? Follow the money. The Parliamentary Forum for Sexual and Reproductive Rights (EPF) found “that over US$702 million had been spent in the European region on anti-gender activity over the past ten years, with three important geographic sources of this finance – European countries, the Russian Federation, and the US.”
Acording to Parliament Magazine a new report published in 2025 revealed “how groups critical of so-called gender ideology across Europe raised $1.18 billion to target abortion, sex education and LGBTQ+ rights.”
The magazine goes on to say:
“2013 also marked a turning point for a group of religious conservatives. Alarmed by what they saw as an erosion of traditional values, they began to mobilise. A decade later, activism once confined to the political fringe has evolved into a billion-dollar operation seeking to defeat “gender ideology.”
The term — initially rooted in the idea that gender is a social construct — has become a catch-all for right-wing groups targeting what they see as a progressive agenda that includes everything from access to abortion to sex education to LGBTQ+ rights.”
But what of the UK specifically? The country that has reduced the definition of a woman to “Biological Sex”.
Amnesty International has found that:
“65 anti-rights groups operating across the UK, including anti-abortion organisations, groups promoting so-called "conversion therapy," UK branches of powerful US-based organisations, and ultra-conservative Christian groups, with many groups emerging since 2015. Three quarters are registered either as a charity or a company.
“32 of these groups spent a staggering £106 million between 2019 and 2023, an increase of over 33%. All with the aim to undermine our freedoms, restrict access to essential healthcare and roll back the rights we’ve fought hard to win.”
An Organised Attack On Rights
It is therefore clear that this is an organised attack to tear apart woman’s rights. By stocking fear and prejudice of the LGBTQIA + community, they are swiftly and skillfuly turning women against this community.
The classic divide and conquer at play.
By attacking trans rights women erode their own rights. Their own rights to bodily autonomy, to have abortions, to contraception, to dress masculine ect. All of which the Women’s Liberation Movement of the late 1960s fought hard to win.
All being quickly undone by poweful and obscenely rich men who want to reverse women’s rights and liberation back to a pre 1960s state.
