Event Speakers
Counter Demo Organised
Stand Up To Racism (SUTR) have organised a counter demo to the far-right rally.
In a statement by (SUTR) they say:
“The far-righ travelling circus is coming back to Edinburgh, as the Hotel Shouters from across Scotland gather again at Hclyrood to disturb the capital City .The smaller the man, the bigger the megaphone. Who are they and what do they want? They are white supremacist, neo-nazi groups, pushing their racist white genocide' conspiracy. They are Homeland Party, Patriotic Alternative. Britain First. Blood & Honour. Combat 18.
The balaclavas are still on, but the masks are well and truly off. That's who they are, who people are supporting, promoting and making the choice to stand behind. They may call themselves by other names: 'Aberdeen Against legal Migration', 'Pink Ladies', 'Scottish Freedom Patriots', 'Protectors of Scotland', to trick their local communities into supporting them or believing this is about ocal concerns' or 'women and girls safety'.
But it's not. It's about blatant racism and prejudice. And the enjoyment they get from the intimidation and aggression they're inflicting upon people who came to Scotland because it is a safe, welcoming, friendly and diverse COMMUNITY. That's why on the 21st of March, the people of Edinburgh and beyond will stand together to STOP the far-right Say NO to hate and racism And say loud and clear 'REFUGEES ARE WELCOME HERE.”
Their Unity Rally will meet at outside St.Giles at 10am and march to Holyrood (Scottish) Parliament.
